The teams will make one pass on Friday July 6, then qualifying continues on Saturday with eliminations Saturday night.

Scheduled Starting Times Announced for Upcoming May 4,5,6 Racing Events
By Track Promoter
by Bob Lidell
I think I have almost worn out my prayer card but it looks like it was worth it for the Kool April Drags because the weather for Fri & Sat looks like both days at least 85-90 degrees both days. This is going to be a pretty good show. Come down if you can.
I delayed somewhat about the starting times for the May 4, 5, 6 race until I checked with some key people. After some advice, the starting time for the Street Legal will be the same, entry at 5pm race at 6pm. Sat bracket race: Gates open at 10 am and qualifying at noon, eliminations will be started one half hour after racers get two or at most three passes.
This time will be used for drivers meeting and employees time for their break. Then run until completed. Sunday: Gates open at 8am, qualifying starts at 10, have two at most three qualifying (depending on car count) then go into eliminations after drivers meeting and employees break. So, Fri May 4 will be Street Legal Drags, Sat & Sun will both be bracket races.
I am hoping a little later start on Saturday and an earlier start on Sunday will encourage out of town racers to come. The only delays may be in some of the final rounds to allow for cool downs and track cleanups which we cannot prevent. This will allow the paying spectators more action and the racers to get home earlier. I hope this works for most of you.
Champion Racers Enjoy Successful Reopening In Spite of Some Rain
Champion Raceway had a successful reopening this past Sunday even though some rain moved through the area late in the day, cutting the event short. Racers raved about the track conditions and even the food provided by Drive-By Deli. The race also attracted a good amount of spectators too. Not bad for a test-n-tune. New track operators Bob and Joye Lidell must be pleased.
