Time Change for Saturday 9/30/06 National Dragster Challenge Race

Please note that the start time for Saturday's National Dragster Challenge Race has been moved up from 5:00 PM  to 12:00 noon with the gates opening at 10:00 am.  The time change is being made due to the potential for the track getting too cool and moist for late night racing this time of the year.  Please pass this information on to all the racers you know who were planning on attending this race.

Summit E.T. Finals Team

Our Summit E.T. Finals Team is now set, with the exception of one position.  Click on the following link to see the team roster (ET Finals Team).

Whoever  we have not contacted directly, that was in the points series,  is welcome to take the one remaining position.  We'll give it to whoever calls first to indicate they want to be on the team.  Call Sue Richardson at 955-1430 to claim the spot!!

Jim is providing team t-shirts which will be handed out when you get to the track.  We will also have the team letter (J) stickers available for everyone.

Several of our team members have inquired about when they can come out to park.  Gates will open at 3:00 on Wednesday (9/6) for parking.  Due the the amount of work and preparation still needing to be done, we cannot accommodate earlier parking.  (9/1/06)

Methanol

VP C-16 and C-25 are available, but not on site -- if you need either of these please call in advance and they'll make sure to get it.  If you have need for any other particular fuel, or large quantities of any of the fuels,  please call Bruce or Jeremy Ash at 541-779-9004 and they will do whatever they can to accommodate your needs. (8/26/06)

Summit E.T. Finals Team

With the conclusion of our last ET Championship series race, and final tally of all the points, the racers eligible for the Summit ET Finals team are now identified.  Click on the following link to see the team roster (ET Finals Team).

All racers listed must confirm their ability to attend the race by August 31st.  If you cannot attend the race, the next racer in line based on points will be added to the team in your place.  Confirm your attendance by sending an email to webmaster@championraceway.com; or call Sue Richardson at 955-1430. (8/25/06)

Note:  Roster has been updated reflecting racers who have dropped off the team, and those eligible to replace them.  New racers listed must also confirm their attendance as mentioned above. (8/27/06)

Summit E.T. Finals - Contingency Payments

Just a reminder to everyone -- in order to be eligible for contingency payments (if you are one of the lucky ones that win!) you must have the correct decal on your car for the entire event.  In addition, you must have a Summit Racing Equipment decal on the car -- if you don't have one, Jim has these available at the track (at the tower) and you can get them at the next event. NHRA will have very few manufacturer's decals available at the trailer, so if you need decals, you should contact the manufacturer directly.  The companies paying contingencies for the ET Finals are published in the National Dragster (issue dated August 4th, page 74). (8/1206)

King of the Track Race - Saturday August 19th

As most of you are aware, we'll be running our King of the Track competition on Saturday, August 19th.  The King of the Track competition pits the top two racers in each category (excluding Jr. Dragster & High School) against each other in a run-off to see who takes the top honors, along with the special King of the Track Wally.  The race for King of the Track will be run after all competition in our ET Championship Race is completed.  The results of Saturday's race will most likely determine who the final contenders are (since several classes are so close in points between the top positions).  So, if you are in the top of the points standings you should definitely  plan on sticking around to see who the final contenders are, and whether you have more rounds to run!! (8/12/06)

1st Annual Nitro Summerfest & Fox Hunt

Attention bracket racers!!   We've added a race on Saturday, August 26th, which will feature AA Fuel Altereds, Blown Outlaw Altereds, West Coast Top Sportsmen, and a bracket shootout.  The Bracket shootout is open to all cars (electronics or not), with a 12.99 or quicker to qualify and an 8.90 breakout.  This will be a guaranteed payout with $1,000 to win, $300 runner-up and $100 for semis.  Entry fee for car and driver is $55.  Gates open at 2:00 with first qualifying runs at 4:00.   Come join us for some great racing, along with a live band, and a Miss Champion Raceway contest. (8/9/06)

Summit E.T. Finals Team

On Saturday Jim announced  the car count breakdown for Champion's Summit E.T. Finals Team.  The breakdown is as follows:
Super Pro - 16; Pro - 18; Sportsman - 12; Motorcycle - 4; High School - 2; Jr. Dragster - 2. (7/16/06)

E.T. Championship Series Entry Fee Revision

Entry fees for the ET Championship series for High School and Jr Dragster classes have been changed to $25 effective 6/12/06.  In addition, trophies will only be awarded in these categories when there are 4 or more participants in the class. (6/12/06)

Tech Cards

More and more people have become lax about filling out their tech cards completely, or they are not legible and the tower staff has to guess at how to spell names.   Effective immediately, if your tech card is not fully legible or completely filled out, your car will not be tech'd until it is.  (6/12/06)

Summit E.T. Finals Team

In order to be on  the E.T. Finals team, you must be signed up for points (pay $20 fee, have blue competition card & complete information sheet) and have both a NHRA membership and NHRA competition number.  This is a NHRA requirement, and cannot be waived by the track.  So, if you have not already signed up for membership and a competition number you need to do this asap.  Don't wait -- as it can take 6 to 8 weeks to process a new membership.  You can download the registration form at http://www.nhra.com/contacts/forms/nolicense.pdf.  As soon as you get your competition number and membership number you need to give them to us, and begin using the NHRA competition number instead of the track issued number on your car.  Currently 27 of the racers signed up for points did not provide us with a membership number.  If you didn't sign up for points yet, you can still do so -- take care of this at the booth when you pay your entry fee.
