Racers may leave trailers overnight on Sunday. Race will continue to Monday if necessary. If the Race of Champions is rained out, it will be run following the completion of Sunday’s event. The only exception is that Jr. Dragster and High School will run on Sunday. In that case, High School racers may only run one car in one class on Sunday, and must use an additional vehicle if they want to run High School and Pro or Sportsman.
Team Structure

Each participating track is allowed to bring 48 entries,
regardless of class, in addition to 2 High School, 2 Sport Compact and 4 Jr.
Dragster competitors.
·
All team members must have competed in a minimum of three
Summit events (in any class) at the track they will be representing at this
event.
·
Racers in the Race of Champions (Super Pro, Pro, Sportsman,
and Motorcycle) must have competed in at least 50% of the Summit events (in
any class) at the track they will be representing.

We will make our best effort to give every racer two time trials on Friday
and one on Saturday. If the need arises, we will have a special session
Saturday morning for the Race of Champions participants, and then fill in
between ROC rounds with the remainder of competitors.
Pairings and Lane Assignments
·
All classes will be called to the lanes in sessions. Each
team will be assigned specific lanes and sessions throughout the event.
From those assignments, a random draw will be made to pair the lanes for
each elimination round.
·
The driver in each class with the best reaction time during
the first time run on Saturday will earn the potential bye for first round
on Sunday. During subsequent rounds, the best winning reaction time will
have earned the potential bye for the following round. For the Race of
Champions, the first round bye will be based on a random draw, with the best
reaction time earning the bye in following rounds.

Lane choice will be done by a coin toss at the head of the
lanes.
Team Captains
Each team is allowed up to four (4) team captains. Team captains will
handle any and all problems or discrepancies that one of their competitors
may encounter. Only one team captain will be allowed in the tower at any
one time. Any disputes must be brought to the event director by a team
captain. Division Director will rule on an issues and have final say on
such.
Summit Series Decals
Each competitor will be required to run the series decal for the
duration of eliminations. Those not having the decal will not earn points
for team or be eligible for any prizes or awards.
Contingency Decals
The NHRA Trailer will have a very limited supply of these. All racers
are encouraged to have and/or get decals from the manufacturer prior to the
event. Decals must be on vehicle for duration of eliminations. The
contingency verification will take place after the race, but will be checked
against photos from earlier rounds to see that decals were in place.
ET Finals Rules and Regulations
·
All classes, with the exception of Bike/Sled, will be run on
a five-tenth full tree with optional staging.
·
Deep staging will be allowed, but it may not be written on the
vehicle, nor will the starter make any changes to the starting procedure for
those deep staging. Those deep staging assume all risk and must get in
first as Autostart will be on for ALL categories.
·
Bike/Sled will run on a split tree. Racers wanting a Pro Tree
must put a P at the end of their dial (i.e. 9.00P)
·
CrossTalk will be used in Super Pro only. Racers not wanting
CrossTalk need to place an “N” at the end of their dial-in (i.e. 9.00N).
·
No passengers will be allowed in any vehicle during time
trials or competition.
·
Dial-ins and numbers must be on the front, left side, and rear
windows
·
Shoe polished numbers are only allowed in Sportsman, Sport
Compact and High School.
·
Dial-ins must be displayed prior to leaving the head of
staging lanes and entering the ready area, and may not be altered beyond
that point unless OK’d by the event director.
·
Once a driver pre-stages their vehicle, they
have accepted the posted dial-ins on the scoreboard.
·
Excessive braking may be grounds for disqualification.
Starter and/or Event Director will have final say on issuing a warning or an
expulsion. If a warning is issued, any subsequent infraction will be
grounds for immediate disqualification.
·
Any racer or crew member found to be under the influence of
alcohol or other substances, during racing hours, will be immediately
excused from the event and the facility.
·
All tech cards must be filled in completely and legibly, being
sure to indicate your team name or designator at the TOP of the tech card.
·
Team designator must be displayed on the passenger side lower
portion of the windshield. They should also be displayed on the left side
and back of the vehicle.
·
To compete at the Summit E.T. Finals a racer must have
competed at a minimum of 3 Summit events (in any class) at the track they
will be representing.
·
Racers may only compete for one team at the Finals.
·
Penalties will be enforced should one team vandalize another
team’s pit decorations.
Pit Vehicles
Team captains are responsible for policing their team’s pit vehicles for
improper use and no motorized pit vehicles are allowed from sunset until 1
hour prior to racing resuming the following day. All riders must be
licensed and a minimum of 16 years of age.
Pit Areas
Each team will be designated a specific pit area. We ask that all
participants curtail any noisy activities at 10:00 p.m. on any night.
Please also be respectful of the facility and use trash cans to dispose of
any trash prior to leaving the facility.
National Dragster Team Spirit Award
This prestigious award will be given to the team that displays the best
spirit based on these factors:
Pit area organization and decorations, overall conduct and sportsmanship in
all areas of the facility, team display and support in the grandstands.
Award winner will be decided by the NHRA Certification Team.
Special Awards
Will be given to the Best Appearing Vehicle in Super Pro, Pro,
Sportsman, Sled/Bike, and Jr. Dragster. Best Engineered and Best Appearing
Crew will each be awarded to one racer on Sunday. The award recipients will
be decided by the NHRA Certification Team.
High School Eliminator
Open to any student that has attended high school during the 2010
calendar year. A Complimentary competition number will be provided for
these participants. High School racers will also be able to enter either
Pro or Sportsman on Sunday, but those competing on Sunday must purchase a
NHRA competition number and membership. No Motorcycles or electronics
allowed. If Saturday’s race is rained out, High School will be contested on
Sunday. If that happens, High School competitors can only run one class
with one car, and must race a separate vehicle in Pro or Sportsman.
Jr. Dragster
Time Trials and eliminations will be conducted on Friday and Saturday at
this event. Jr. Dragster drivers are eligible to make runs during the test
and tune on Thursday. Each track may send up to four drivers. Racers will
be split into Lightning and Thunder classes based on age. A driver who
started the season as a 12-year-old but turned 13 during the season can run
in Thunder but cannot dial quicker than 8.90. If Saturday is rained out, Jr.
Dragster will run on Sunday. There will be a bonus race for Jr. Dragster
competitors on Friday afternoon.
Team Championship/Track Manager’s Challenge
Each participating track will be awarded one (1) point per round won in
the four contested classes. The team with the highest point total will be
crowned the Northwest Division Team Champions. Track Manager’s Challenge
will award one point per round won on Saturday in all seven classes.
Race of Champions
Each track may send up to four representatives in Super Pro, Pro,
Sportsman, and Sled/Bike. The winners of this race will be eligible to
attend the NHRA Finals and compete for the Summit Racing Series National
Championship.

Sport Compact
Each track can send two racers to compete in Sport Compact. The winner
will receive a NHRA Wally and jacket. Purse: Win-$400, R/U-$200, Semi (if
17+ entries) $50.
Restricted Area
The only people allowed in the restricted area are: NHRA employees,
track employees, racers in their cars, and crew members who are with the car
on the track. No mascots or extra people allowed.
Class Changes, Multiple Entries, Multiple Drivers
If you need to change from one class to another, please notify the
tower. During each day, each car can only have one driver, and each car can
only compete in one class. A possible exception to this is when a High
School racer shares a car with a parent. In that case, the parent or
student (not both) can run time trials on Friday, the student would compete
in High School on Saturday, and the parent would compete on Sunday. Under
no circumstances can a car make multiple runs in a time trial session,
regardless of who is driving. Drivers are allowed to compete in multiple
classes provided they have a separate car for each class.
NHRA Membership Required
All competitors must be NHRA members in order to participate. All
competitors must also have a NHRA competition number.
